Instead, she laid the man in her living room for days waiting for him to resurrect as per her religious beliefs that stated that one will resurrect after death and therefore should not be buried.
However, neighbours realised a strange smell coming from the compound and alerted the police. According to the neighbours, their compound was always under lock and key with no one allowed inside even when the husband was alive.
Upon arrival, the police forced their way into the compound after the woman denied them entry. That’s when they found the body lying next to her bed in her living room rotting away.
“The police went into the compound and found the woman alone. She looked sick, tired and emaciated. She was actually shaking a lot. The woman alleged that she had kept the body waiting its resurrection.”
Neighbours who spoke to the press said that the woman and her husband were members of a religious sect that restricted the consumption of foods. They were only allowed to take bananas and watermelons.
On inquiry about their children, locals said that the couple did not have children with the woman allegedly siting that her faith did not allow her to have children.
