A Senior cop attached to Loruk Police Station in Marigat, Bungoma County was rescued by his colleagues from a group of about 150 angry youths who surrounded his home baying for his blood.
In a shocking turn of events, the angry youths are said to have attacked the home of the cop while he was on a sick leave due to a love triangle that the cop was involved in before he was rescued.

The youths are said to have been armed with both sharp and crude weapons seeking revenge against the officer who is said to have stabbed a Bungoma businessman in his buttocks over allegation of affair with his lover.
Upon realising that his house was locked but was inside, the youths demanded that the officer steps outside to answer the allegations. However, instead of stepping out, the officer notified his colleagues who came hastily.
Responding to the distress call by his junior, Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Bumula Oscar Mutakha arrived at the compound and several rounds were fired into the air to disperse the crowd.
However, the officer opened the door after the situation calmed down and was placed in hand cuffs and was taken to Bumula Police Station either as a saved technique or to answer allegations levied against him.

The victim who was stabbed by the said officer and who is a Bungoma businessman was rushed to Bumula Sub-County hospital where he was treated and discharged in fair a condition.
