Former Prime Minister and Africa Union candidate for the Chairmanship Raila Odinga has listed seven promises that he aims to achieve once he is elected as the AU Chairman.
In a statement released today, the former Prime Minister said that his main objective is to ensure that Africa continent has free movement of people across all countries in the region.

“It is regrettable that 60 years into independence, Africans have to fly to Europe to connect to certain parts of Africa and require multiple currencies and visas to access other African countries.”
The current Kenyan Opposition Leader has also vouched for a free trade regime within the continent and integration across the African continent, insisting on the need to remove non-trade barriers.
Raila Odinga has also vowed to ensure there was global cooperation, infrastructure development, open skies and investment in energy and internet connectivity as part of his promises if he becomes the AU Chairman
Odinga has further promised to work on stalled projects within the continent, citing the navigation problems experienced in the River Nile derailing trade operations.
“I hope that as chairman of the AUC, I will help the continent embark on long-deferred dreams including making River Nile navigable and connecting the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Victoria – Lake Tanganyika water bodies to facilitate efficient logistics in the interiors.”
In addition, Raila has also put his eyes on ensuring steadfast political, security, economic, and humanitarian support for Kenya and other African countries, pushing for unity and peace among the nations.

Odinga has vowed to ensure that his promises are delivered once he becomes the next Africa Union Chairmans to ensure that he leaves a permanent mark of change in his leadership.
