A day after the fire incident at Hillside Endarasha Academy claimed lives of eighteen pupils, more schools have been closed over similar reports of fire incidents
According to reports, two schools in Makueni County were closed down on Friday after fire incidents raged down school dormitories and unknown value of property was badly destroyed.
The management of the two schools, Maini High School and St. Peter Claver Secondary School- Kithuki came into the decision after consultation with the Ministry just hours after the devastating reports from Hillside Endarasha.

Report from one of the witness who was at St. Peter Claver Secondary School, the fire broke out while the students were attending an entertainment session at one of the school halls.
However, in Maini High School, the fire broke out while the students were attending the evening classes and therefore there is no report of casualties as there were no children in the dormitories at the time of both incidents.
Following the incident, two people have since been arrested following the fire incident at St. Peter Claver Secondary School with police commencing investigations into the root cause of the two fires.
This comes as the Ministry of Education announced that it hasput up a multi agency team from the Ministry of Interior and other policing units to determine the causes of Friday inferno in these institutions.

President William Ruto has announced three days of mourning to honour tragedy victims of the Hillside Endarasha Academy school starting Monday whereby all flags in the country will be flown at half mast.
