President William Ruto has spoken about the tragedy that befall the Hillside Endarasha Academy after fire raged down the boys dormitory, claiming 21 lives.
Speaking during a church service in Nyeri on Sunday, the Head of State said that he will be directing Ksh 2 Million to the school to help them purchase items that were lost during the fire incident.
“I will send Ksh.2 million to the school management so that you buy items for those whose items were burnt so that our children go back to school,” President Ruto direvted in his speech.

The Head of State also directed that he will work closely with families of all the pupils that died in the Endarasha tragedy to facilitate the burial arrangements for them.
However, President Ruto also said that he will approach the institution’s director David Kinyua after a probe into the deadly incident is complete to help the school back on its feet and normalcy to resume at the school.
“I will look for Kinyua, after investigations are complete, we see how we can help that school so that we create space for our children to learn,” the President further stated.
However, Parents of students whose whereabouts remain unknown have remained in distress despite a declaration by the government that all the missing students have been accounted for.

Reports however indicate that parents are still going through the process of conducting autopsies at the Naromoru Level 4 Hospital with DNA results being the only way of identification due to the high degree of burns.
