A plane crashed on Monday with several passengers on board while trying to take off from a kenyan airstrip in Migori.
According to reports, the plane that is said to be flying locally was carrying eleven passengers while attempting to take off from Lichota Airstrip in Migori County, Kenya.
However, the plane is said to have veered off the runway according to witnesses near the airstrip and crashed emitting a cloud of smoke after landing in a ditch away from the runway.

“I was in my compound next to the airstrip when I saw the plane trying to take off from the runway. It lost control and stalled at the end of the runaway,”confirmed Moses Ywera, a local near the airstrip.
Immediate response from Migori County Government’s fire engine and an ambulance arrived at the airstrip immediately and contained the situation. All eleven passengers were evacuated safely from the crash.
It’s however still not yet clear what led to the afternoon crash but the aircraft has been identified as the property of Z.Boskovic Air Charters with registration number 5Y-ZBW who have also released the statement after the incident.
“We have engaged the relevant authorities to support the investigation of the incident and are closely investigating the incident.” said the company in a statement to the media.
This comes moths after another plane accident caused by mid air collision of two planes; involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School caused death of two people.

“Kenya Civil Aviation Authority wishes to confirm that an aircraft accident occurred at 10:05hrs involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School and a Dash 8 belonging to Safarilink Aviation Limited.”
