Several tenants are feared trapped inside a collapsed building in Uthiru, some feared dead while others have been injured in the Tuesday night incident.
According to reports, the multiple storey building is reported to have collapsed some minutes after 9Pm along Naivasha Road in Uthiru area, Nairobi County.

The apartment that has been identified as Espsom Apartment is said to have a total of five floors and reports indicate that both ground floor and first floor was completely damaged.
Confirming the incident, Kenya Red Cross said that the building was reported to have collapsed but their officers are currently enroute to the area to start the rescue mission for those trapped.
“In Uthiru, Nairobi County, a building has collapsed, response teams are en route to the scene,” Kenya Red Cross Posted.

It’s however unclear how many people were in the building at the time of accident nor is it clear if there were casualties and how many so far. However, reports confirm that there are multiple injuries from the incident with other people trapped.
This comes as the rains continue to wreck havoc in the country causing floods and landslides that cause various structures to weaken, hence resulting to such incidents in various parts of the country.
