Several Cabinet Secretaries have reportedly replaced top government officials in their respective ministries in the latest government shake up that saw appointments and re-appointments of officials.
According to reports, three Cabinet Secretaries have made significant changes in their ministries in a bid to increase efficiency and competency as directed by President William Ruto during swearing in.
Reports indicate that Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome and Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua have made numerous changes in the past 48 hours.

In a Gazette Notice dated September 6, 2024, CS Mbadi fired four officials; Martha Opisa Okochil, Louis Karisa, Ruth Jerotich and Tom Okundi who served as trustees to the Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust.
In their place, Mbadi appointed four new members; Irene Githiga (Federation of Matatu Drivers and Conductors Association), Kevin Bwire Mubadi (Kenya National Boda Boda Association), Joseph Kisoro Ogola (Kenya National Federation of Jua Kali Association) and Teresia Njenga (Mitumba Association).
Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome fired eight officials who served as members of the Lamu West Land Control Board. They include Julia Wamboi Njuguna, Ali Omar Mohammed, Simon Muguro Mwarania, Julia Wamaitha Kimani, John Mbugua Njoka, Zeinabu Gobu Wako, James Muriithi Ngiriri and Cecilia Wanjiku Ng’ang’a.
In their replacement, Wahome hired Samoe Farouk Fadhil, County Physical Planner, Moses Kiarie Wanjiku, Omar Bakari Ibrahim, Nasra Abdurehman Omar, Biha Wanje Baya, Maalim Fadhili Maalim and Abubakar Masoud Rashid,
Labour CS Alfred Mutua also made significant changes in the General Wages Council just a week after the government announced Increase of wages to all civil servants.

The new appointments include Bernard Muteti Mungata as the Chairperson of the General Wages Council, with Joel K. Chebii, Caroline Rutto, and Selina Ngei representing trade unions. Dickens Ouma, Stephen Obiro, and Sammy Mulwa will represent employers while Rister Muthoka Musau and Teresa C. Maina will be independent members.
