In a letter addressed to the Football Kenya Federation CEO/ General Secretary, Bandari Football Club claims that their rival who in this case are Sofapaka allegedly fielded their player who is under contract with the club.
Valentine Amos Asembeka has played in four consecutive matches for the Sofapaka. The Sofapaka Fields Bandari player is therefore uncalled for. This was an official complaint to the Kenya Premier League governing body to ensure necessary consequences.
According to the letter, the player played for Sofapaka in the match against Kenya Police on 21st October at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos. He also played the match against Tusker at the same venue in Machakos in match number 66.

The player also played two other matches including one against KCB which was match number 78 played on 1st of November. The match was played at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani Annex Stadium.
The last match that Valentine plaued for Sofapaka was the match against FC Talanta. This match according to the letter was played on 4th of November which was played in Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
However according to Bandari Football Club, the player has a valid contract with the club until 30th June 2024. This was a 1 1/2 year contract from February 2023.
The club claims it has not terminated the player’s contract. Although Sofapaka fields Bandari player, There was communications through the player’s lawyer. But an agreement has not yet been reached, thus he remains a Bandari player
In addition, the player has been receiving his monthly salary and the club is up to date with the payments. No release letter has been issued to the said player.
This letter dated 9th of November seeks explanation as to why and how the player was registered to play for another club while under contract.
The Bandari club is however committed to ensure the situation is handled professionally and within the rules and regulations of the game.
