The government has finally announced the school opening dates for second term days after Postponement of the re-opening of schools till further notice.
In a statement by Statehouse, the government has confirmed that schools will officially be opened for second term starting on May 13th in all schools across the country.

The announcement came moments after President William Ruto met leaders from Laikipia and Kajiado, which have been reportedly suffered a huge blow in the ongoing flooding situation in the country.
Secretary of State Functions, Mike Gitonga quoted President William Ruto and said that the decision of opening schools for second term on dates May 13th was informed by advisories issued by the Kenya Meteorological Department.
This comes after the President William Ruto announced that schools will remain closed till further notice to allow the flooding situation to tone down before Re-Opening.
“The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the dates of reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice.”

Parents have therefore been directed to prepare their students to report to school on the set date with school heads also directed to ensure schools are ready to resume learning.
