Eliud Kipchoge, the former Marathon World Record holder has been frustrated after finishing tenth in the ongoing Tokyo Marathon.
According to reports, Eliud Kipchoge finished 10th after clocking two hours, six minutes and 50 seconds (2.06.50).The 39-year-old Kipchoge faded badly at around the 20-kilometre (12-mile) mark thus the results.
Speaking to Japan’s Nippon TV, Kipchoge said that not everyday is a winning day and thats how it happens in sports.

“That’s how it is. Not every day is Christmas Day.” he told the Japan’s Nippon TV.
Kipchoge said “something happened in the middle of the race”, without elaborating further. However, he said he “ will go back, relax and start training.” Immediately.

Benson Kipruto came out on top as the winner of Tokyo Marathon after finishing with two hours, two minutes and sixteen seconds (2.02.16)

Kipchoge will attempt to win his third straight Olympic marathon gold later this year and he said it was “too early to say” what shape he will be in at the Paris Games.
The Tokyo Marathon was the first race since Kiptum’s death and Kipchoge was on pace to reclaim the world record that was broken by Kelvin Kiptum before his death in Chicago Marathon.
However, that didn’t materialise as he fell back to tenth and will have to go back and restrategise to the drawing board and draw his next move after such a humiliating defeat in Tokyo.
Several leaders have sent their congratulatory messages to Kipruto as the new champion is crowned in Tokyo.
