Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s bodyguard has been found dead in Oyugis after he was reported missing days ago.
According to reports, Evans Okoda who was Kidero’s bodyguard was found dead with one hand chopped off from the rest of his body at the time his body was discovered.

It’s still unclear on the circumstances that led to his death, but preliminary investigations indicate that Okoda was tortured and murdered before his body was disposed in Oyugis.
Okoda is said to be a common security figure in Clubs and public events, known for his efficient security services to top figures including former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
Addressing the matter, Evans Kidero confirmed that Okoda was part of his security detail in the 2022 general elections and added that the matter should be investigated and perpetrators brought to book.
“Following the brutal murder of Mr. Evans Okoda in the wee hours of today morning at his residence compound in Oyugis Town, Homa bay county, I urge the authorities to investigate this crime and bring its perpetrators to justice.”
According to Kidero, the manner in which Okoda was murdered was brutal and his death has sent fear among locals who feel that security is a matter that needs urgent address in the area.
“Evans Okoda’s untimely death is tragedy in its own right; the circumstances in which it has happened makes it imperative that the security services expedite investigations as a matter of utmost urgency.”

However, reports indicate that investigators have taken up the case to try and piece together evidence that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the heinous act that has shocked residents of Oyugis Town.
