Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) and National Police Service Officials have decised to solve their differences after several reported incident of public fighting between the two security agencies.
According to reports, the KDF and Kenya Police met on Monday afternoon after which a reconciliation meeting between KDF, National Police, private security guards and the Kenya Ferry Services and Kenya Ports Authority officials was held at the Likoni crossing channel.

The meeting was attended by Kenya Navy Base Commander Lt Col John Mutabari, Likoni Deputy County Commissioner Mwangi Wambugu, Likoni OCPD Geofrey Ruheni and KPA Manager Security Services Tony Kibwana.
“We agreed on mutual respect, multi-agency cooperation and open communication channels to avoid a repeat of a similar incident,” said an official who attended the meeting.
This comes days after the Kenya Defense Forces issued a statement that the incident was highly regrettable and they will conduct an investigation into the matter as quick as possible.
“To establish the circumstances leading to the incident, Military Police and requisite investigation agencies are currently handling the matter. The incident is highly regrettable. As KDF personnel, we are beholden to the core value of professionalism.”
The recent developments come after a series of oublic fights between the KDF Soldiers and the police officers in different parts of the country, the latest being in Kakamega where three KDF Soldiers have been arrested for fighting police officers.

Started with Lodwar incident where KDF officers harassed and disarmed one police officer who was manning a road block before the rest of the officers responded and arrested four army officials.
In Likoni however, KDF Soldiers were seen beating police officers and private security guards at the area with kenyans raising concerns over the worrying trend of fights between two critical security agencies.
