A woman was killed in Naivasha after she was accused of over-celebrating her EPL’s team goal in Naivasha while watching a game.
According to reports, the incident happened in Karagita estate, 15kms from Naivasha town where two women who were watching a football match started arguing during a goal celebration.
The suspect allegedly pushed the other who crashed on the floor and was taken to Naivasha Sub-county Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival due to nature of injury.

However, the suspect presented herself to police and was locked up as police started their investigations Immediately to confirm the facts of the case.
The two are said to have met in a local bar where they were watching the EPL match. Being soccer enthusiasts, they were rivals with each supporting her own to win the game.
Narrating the incident, Sam Mbuthia, a witness said that Trouble started when one team scored which then led to a heated argument with one accusing the other of over-celebrating the goal.
“The suspect accused the deceased of over-celebrating and this led to an altercation in which the latter was pushed and fell on the floor. She crashed and was unconscious when she was rushed to hospital before being pronounced dead.”

Confirming the incident, Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui said that although the incident was not intentional, the suspect was in custody and will be arraigned once investigations were through.
“The incident was not intentional as the suspect just pushed the other woman who fell and died but she will definitely be charged in court.”
Football enthusiasts have been advised to mantain their cool even when their team is losing to avoid altercations with the rival fans which can lead to fights and cases like these.
