A middle aged woman helped by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga some time back to build her house has been found dead days after she was reported missing in her home.
The woman hit the news headlines when the photo of her dilapidated house went viral in August 2020 prompting well wishers and kenyans of good will to call for her aid in rebuilding the house.
It’s through this that the Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga decided to extend a helping hand to the woman and built her a house that she has been occupying up until her unfortunate demise.

According to reports, the woman was found inside a water tank on Sunday after missing for some days. However, it was not immediately clear what caused the death and the circumstances surrounding her demise.
Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has issued a statement after receiving the sad news directing urgent and fast investigations into the matter.
“It’s truly a sad ending to Sarah Wairuri, a lady we interacted with through Faith Mwaura in 2020 in Karima Ward.The County Government took her three young children to Karatina Children’s Home and has been taking care of all their needs since 2020. Sarah Went missing last week only for her to be found dead in a water tank in her home.”

“The circumstances surrounding this death are unclear and I have implored the police to investigate this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. May her soul rest In eternal peace.”
Kenyans who stood for her at the time have called upon speedy investigations into the matter and bring culprits to book. She has however left behind five children. May her soul rest in peace.
