A driver who witnessed the machakos accident has revealed what happened moments before the bus crashed killing nine people on the spot.
The driver has revealed that he was behind the bus and observed the bus driver encountering difficulty while negotiating a corner before the machakos accident happened.
This comes after Faith Safaris bus that lost control and veered into a ditch on Monday, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to 35 others.

The eyewitness who was heading to Katangi noted that he stopped his vehicle as the bus rolled and landed in a ditch. He wanted to offer help to those involved in the accident.
According to the driver, the bus ahead of him was visibly struggling as the driver tried to regain control of the vehicle but he didn’t manage resulting to the bus rolling into a ditch, killing nine on the spot.
“The bus was carrying different parcels, I saw charcoal scattered on the ground and a few passengers who were feared dead.”
According to police reports, the bus was overloaded with both passengers and luggage, this being bags of charcoal. However, the bus was also Over speeding which led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
Following the accident, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has waived the hospital bills for the over 35 passengers who were injured in the grisly accident.

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi extended his condolences to the families of the victims on Tuesday. He also commended the medical team for their prompt responses to the incident.
Yesterday, kenyans also raised concerns over numerous accidents that have been reported in recent days calling upon the government to tighten traffic rules and reduce the number of accidents happening on various roads across the country.
