President William Ruto has been on a promises spree since he started his campaigns before he became president. He always made big promises to everyone and anyone who cared to listen. The Ruto lies on kenyans keep piling up day by day.
However, once he became president, instead of working on the promises he made to the people, he hang on excuses. He claimed he found empty coffers from a past regime, a regime he was the Deputy President. But financial statistics prove otherwise.
That didn’t stop there as he kept on promising better but doing the opposite. All the promises he made during the campaigns, remain void. One might think he didn’t win elections because not even one of the promises he has actualised.
This is why these promises from the head of state will stop making sense because of the constant lies. Hustlers are closing down businesses because of harsh economic conditions. The government is overburdening average kenyans with taxes.
The cost of living keeps going up and the unemployment situation keeps going from bad to worse. But everytime the President takes the mic, he adds promises on top of other unfulfilled promises. When will the actual fulfilment be done?
President William Ruto Failed Promises:
- Ruto promised Kenyans that he will not take loans to run the country. A year later in office, he is stuck with IMF with the loan institution even increasing the loan limit for him.
- During the manifesto launch, Ruto said that mama mbogas will experience free calls and data. One year in, the best he’s done is CAs proposal to cut rates. READ: Expect Lower Call Rates From Next Year. CA Tells Kenyans
- As a Presidential candidate on the same manifesto launch saw William Ruto commit to three months free diapers for newborns. This he said will be fully paid by the government. Currently, expectant mothers can’t even access good maternal care.
- Appearing on presidential interview, the President said that he will scrap off taxes to reduce the price of fuel. He especially said that VAT on fuel should be scrutinised. A year later, fuel is on it’s all time high.
- He has been vocal about fighting corruption in his government when in real sense his close allies are making corruption moves. This they do as he looks the other way.
It is an endless list. This includes lowering cost of living, the opposiis happening, dropping the dollar which instead has hit an all time high. Creating about 4 Million jobs, a promise he made on 6th November, Kenyans are instead seeing the worst case scemof joblessness.
The price of unga and edible oil which has always followed his shadow remains itchy to him. With the figures reported and the reports from the shops being different. Making it yet another failed promise.
Speaking on an interview, the President also said that the housing levy is not a tax. After the roll-out, the levy is more of a tax and adds to other taxes that have been imposed to kenyans.
Kenyans can no longer trust what the head of state says. His promises have always remained that, promises. Yesterday, he promised that the fuel prices will go down by December. But kenyans already know what will happen.
The President has gone hard on the podium than he has done on implementation. He talks like he is still campaigning. Throwing promises like he is expecting something in return.
When will the government realise that elections happened and they won and start working for kenyans? When will Ruto lies on kenyans end? Kenyans are still asking as to when the promises be fulfilled.
