The family of veteran Citizen TV Journalist Mutegi Njau has confirmed his death through a statement to the newsrooms.
According to the family, Mutegi Njau was confirmed dead on Thursday around 7PM in the evening with reports indicating that the veteran journalist died peacefully.

“Dad was a remarkable man whose generosity, sense of humour, and dedication to his career left a lasting impact on everyone he met,” his family wrote.
The family further revealed that plans for his burial arrangements have officially begun in a bid to give their father a decent send off.
“We are currently in the process of arranging his funeral and will share the details within the next day or two. Your presence would be greatly appreciated as we gather to honour his memory.”
Mutegi Njau, a veteran Citizen TV Journalist was a resident analyst for Citizen TV during its early morning show, Cheche with fellow veteran political expert David Makali and alongside Uduak Amimo.
His former colleagues have mourned the veteran journalist describing him as a mentor and hardworking man. His co-host Makali mourned the loss of his colleague celebrating him for his remarkable achievements in the media industry.
“Devastated by the passing on of senior colleague, co-host and panellist Mutegi Njau. May your toil on this earth be rewarded and your memory last forever among those you mentored and gifted, or who savoured your goodness.”
Head of the Deputy Presidential Communication Service (DPCS) Njeri Rugene also sent her condolences describing him as a leader and a journalist who left a mark in the journalism industry.

“Mutegi Njau made an indelible mark in Kenya’s Journalism. He trained many of us. He has left a rich legacy. It is time to rest. Rest in Peace Senior.”
