Kenyans on social media have raised concerns after a Gen Z protester was arraigned in court and charged for publishing Ruto Must Go on his social media pages as a sign of incitement.
Taking to their social media platforms, kenyans questioned the law that the court used to charge the protester with others alleging that the country is being dragged back to the dark days of iron fist government.

In the charge sheet, the court was told that Ndung’u is before the court for “Incitement to violence and disobedience of the law contrary to section 96 of the law of the penal code.”
This was in addition of particulars in the charge sheet that indicated that Ndung’u, on the 25th of June at Nyahururu sub county within Laikipia County jointly with others not before the court were charged for publishing words “Ruto Must Go”
According to the prosecution, the utterances and publishing of the “Ruto Must Go” was an act which was prejudicial to public peace, order and tranquility. This has forced kenyans to raise their concerns over the charge against Ndung’u.
Arrested on 2nd of July for the 25th offence, Ndungu was released on a Ksh 50,000 cash bail. It’s not yet clear whether Ndung’u raised the bail that he was supposed to use as his freedom.

However Kenyans have called the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to stop arraigning peaceful protesters without Probable cause in a bid to please masters from the high office.
