Reports further suggest that the incident took place hours after the lecturer arrived at his home from Nairobi with the worker saying that the lecturer did not show any signs of unrest at the time he arrived home from the city
Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua confirmed the incident revealing that the lecturer had a meal with his workers on the fateful evening as he prepared to depart for Nairobi.
The officer noted that the lecturer instructed his workers to milk the cows and do other manual duties even as he took a rest. However, a search by Police Officers within the deceased’s compound, retrieved a ladder allegedly used by the victim to climb the tree.
Further, a search retrieved a note allegedly drafted by the lecturer that contained his wife’s number and allegedly addressed to his wife over the action. It’s however still unclear why the lecturer took that step.
