Uganda Opposition Leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, famously known as Bobi Wine, has been reportedly shot by military and police in Uganda.
According to reports by his party while confirming the incident, Bobi Wine was shot in the leg at a place called Bulindo, Uganda and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
His social media handlers while confirming the incident said that they will keep the country updated on the progress of the injury as he receives treatment at hospital.

“Our President Bobi Wine has been shot in the leg by police in Bulindo! He’s been rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention. We’ll keep the country updated on his situation.”
Bobi Wine is often outspoken about political and social issues in Uganda, generating some controversy. He has rattled the ruling party and specifically President Museveni on several occasions over his opposition activities.
The Ugandan opposition leader has on several occasions rallied Kampala residents to protest in what he termed poor infrastructure and against poor leadership experienced in the country.
Reports indicate that Bobi Wine had gone to check on his lawyers and was surrounded while he was returning from the meeting and the police together with the military started spraying bullets at their vehicles.
“This evening as our President returned from Bulindo in Kira Municipality where he had gone to check on one of our lawyers, Musisi George, the police and military under the command of one Twesigye surrounded our vehicles and started firing live bullets, teargas canisters and other projectiles.”

In the process, Bobi Wine was shot in his leg in what the opposition team terms as an attempt on his life by the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. However, more fetails will be provided by his party.
