United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Manyatta Member of Parliament (MP) Gitonga Mukunji has come out to narrate how he narrowly escaped from protesters after storming parliament on Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview, the UDA MP who voted against the controversial Finance Bill said all MPs were a target whether you voted for the Finance Bill or against it because people were furious.

According to the MP, they were having lunch at a members only restaurant within Parliament when they were notified that Gen Z prptesters had invaded Parliament grounds and had to come up with a plan fast.
He was with a colleague but they had to separate leaving the food as everyone came up with his own plan to escape. The first thing the MP did was to remove his official clothing to look like one of the protester.
After managing to get out of the area, he removed his tie and shirt and tucked them into his pocket only remaining with the coat to camouflage as one of the protesters as he ran towards the road.
The MP said he ran all the way to Harambee Avenue roundabout and immediately went to Harambee house in a bid to access his offices at KICC where police officers police officers prevented his entry because he “didn’t look like an MP”
However, after identifying himself to them, he was allowed to access his office where he stayed till the protests cooled off. However, the MP was shocked on the unfortunate events on Tuesday.

“I am one of the few unlikely members who voted no, and it is because I listened to my people. I even did an online engagement on Tiktok and Zoom and they rejected it.”
