Reports indicate that two choppers have crashed in Wajir today. The Helicopter Crash In Wajir has been linked to the bad weather that is being experienced across the country.
A private chopper with registration 5Y-SDL crashed in Wajir airport in less than a minute after take off. It was not immediately established as what caused the chopper to go down.
Atleast three people who were involved in the crash were taken to hospital and police confirmed that they were in stable conditions. The chopper that was carrying exam papers was however badly damaged.
In the same Wajir airport moments ago, a KDF chopper has crashed during takeoff. This makes Helicopter Crash In Wajir cases to two in one day. The chopper was supplying food items to flood affected families in Buna town, Wajir North constituency.
According to Wajir County Red Cross Coordinator Abdia Manya several people including the pilots and teachers are nursing injuries. The injured were rushed to Buna sub-county hospital for treatment.

Cases of chopper crash within the country are on the rise. This is suspected to be due to bad weather experienced across the country. Most parts of the country are inaccessible due to floods and choppers are the most convenient means of transport for aid.
This case brings the total number of chopper crashes to three in a span of two weeks. On November 9, two Kenya Defence Forces pilots were admitted to hospital after their chopper crashed in the Kisamis area, Kajiado West.
The Kenya Airforce chopper hit a power cable as it flew to Nairobi and was kept under the radar to avoid attention.
It’s however seems that the use of choppers will not stop anytime soon as exams run to its last week this week. Exam materials need to reach centers that cannot be accessible by road. While flood victims need aid and only choppers can access them.
