Police Officers are looking for a truck driver that killed five people in the Kikopey Accident. The five died on the spot and the driver is missing after fleeing the scene.
The accident happened at Kikopey Trading Centre along the Gilgil-Nakuru highway. The truck driver lost control and hit two male adult pedestrians killing them on the spot.
The same vehicle rammed into iron sheet structures a few meters from the road where it had killed the two and killed three other male adults who were inside the structures playing pool table game.
According to police statement, the trailer which had no visible number plates caused loss of lives and destruction of property.

Property damaged during the accident include three motor vehicles that were at a yard; a Land Rover, Peugeot 405, and Isuzu Tropper.

However, police report that efforts to trace the trailer driver have been futile but the efforts to hunt him down are currently underway.
This comes days after another similar accident happened in Londiani area. The accident happened after a 14- seater matatu hit a trailer that led to four men and one child loosing their lives with several others injured in the accident.
The National Transport and Safety Authority has warned motorists to ensure road safety measures are taken seriously especially this festive season.
