Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has been involved in an helicopter accident in Baringo, sources confirm.
According to reports the accident occurred while the helicopter was attempting to take off before it crashed back to the ground in the Mwanchon area in Baringo County.
Reports indicate that Kipchumba Murkomen was in the company of Kenya Airways Authority (KAA) Chairman Caleb Kositany at the time of the unfortunate incident.

Fortunately, everyone on board was rescued to safety during the mid morning incident as no one was injured at the time of going to press on this issue.
Police officers have reported on site to ascertain what happened that led to the accident. In the images circulating online, the helicopter can be seen slanted but in intact condition. There is no visible damage to the plane.
According to witnesses on the ground near the scene of the accident, the plane crashed just after taking off the ground, however, confirmed that the crash was more of a soft landing on grass.
This comes just days after two people were pronounced dead after two helicopters crashed within Nairobi Airspace, crashing at the Nairobi National Park.
“Kenya Civil Aviation Authority wishes to confirm that an aircraft accident occurred at 10:05hrs involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School and a Dash 8 belonging to Safarilink Aviation Limited.”
Investigations by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department of the Ministry of Roads and Transport further revealed that the helicopter that caused the accident had caused two other accidents previously prior to the accident that killed two people.
Murkomen Helicopter Accident becomes another helicopter accident within a span of two weeeks or less with concerns aimed at the safety of aircrafts in the country.
