Fifteen people have been confirmed dead with scores injured after an accident that occurred today at the busy Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
According to reports the tragic accident occurred at around 0200 hours at Twin Beidge area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway claiming lives on the spot.
The accident involved two vehicles which collided along the road both full of passengers. The vehicles, one belonging to Classic Kings of Congo and the Nissan belonging to North Ways Shuttle Toyota matatu.

Police Officers from Mau summit police station were first to arrive at the scene and started the rescue operations where the injured were taken to Molo Sub-County Hospital while.
However, the cause of the accident is yet to be established with police officers warning motorist of the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway that has been notorious in the recent past for accidents.
This comes days after similar accidents happened along the highway that has so far claimed tens of travellers using the road.
So far, this is the highest recorded casualties number in the recent past with fifteen perishing on the spot. Police Officers however confirmed that the vehicles were involved in an head on collision thus the high number of casualties.
Drivers and motorists are advised to be careful when using the road and follow all the road signs and warnings that have been marked along the highway and treating them with the seriousness they deserve.

This Accident has raised the number of casualties since the year started to over fourty with barely days into the new year. More emphasis need to be put on roads to prevent these accidents.
