Education stakeholders have termed the implementation of CBC as a joke in what they called, a raw deal for learners. This was during teacher’s AGM machakos
Addressing the issue from a Teacher’s Annual General Meeting in Machakos, various education leaders expressed their concerns about the rollout. This they clained was done in a rushed manner without proper structures in place.
The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association has pointed out challenges faced by CBC. Suggestions like moving Junior Secondary Schools to high school was dominant saying they can access facilities better in high-school.
Kahi Indimuli, the KESSHA chairman has called the government to review the CBC for effective implementation. This he said is by taking suggestions to support the rollout.

Suggestions for effective CBC rollout:
- Increasing funding for thr CBC programme. The stakeholders pointed out that the programme is underfunded with the most to be done making most parts left out due to lack of funding.
- Improving infrastructure to support CBC. Kahi Indimuli pointed out that most schools lack the infrastructure to implement CBC making the roll-out disadvantageous to schools in rural areas.
- Making schools techno-ready for the implementation. Use of technology has been viewed as a medium of instruction to CBC learners therefore, called out for the bettering technology in schools for better implementation.
- Staffing. Junior secondary schools teachers have expressed their concerns about understaffing. This they said should be improved by the government to ensure all subjects taught under the JSS are catered for.
Musembi Katuku, the Machakos KESSHA Secretary has called out the Presidential Working Party that proposed the CBC changes for misadvising the Minister of Education. Something he said led to misadvising the Head of State.

Stagnation of teachers in one job group and the government should ensure promotion of teachers should be timely.
Delay in capitation disbursement to schools which they said ammount to 54 Billion in arrears over the last four years. This they uged the government to act on and ensure timely capitation disbursement. This winded up the Teacher’s AGM Machakos.
