Police have uncovered the shocking details of the murder of Athlete, the kenyan- born Benjamin Kiplagat who was found murdered in Eldoret on Sunday.
Moiben Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Okal confirming the arrest of two prime suspects in the murder noted that the athlete was heading home in the wee hours of Sunday morning before the incident occurred.
According to the police, Kiplagat, who was driving a black Toyota Hilux, was intercepted by a motorcycle which is believed to have blocked his route as he was heading home.

This forced the athlete athlete to knock down the motorcycle due to suspicious blocking on the road. Thereafter the riders are suspected to have stabbed him on the neck with a knife and fled the scene, leaving the motorcycle behind.
Officers in Eldoret were responding to an accident involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle in the Kimumu area at around 5:00 am when they arrived at the scene, they discovered the deceased body in the driver’s seat.
Police Officers who were the first respondents to arrive at the scene noted that Kiplagat had multiple stab wounds on the chest and neck with a deep knife cut on his neck. They later identified the deceased as the athlete residing in Eldoret town.

Two suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the murder with one of the suspects was arrested in Uasin Gishu County, while the second was traced to Trans Nzoia County.
The weapon that was used in the assault has been recovered from the suspects who were on the run and it will be used in court as they wait to be arraigned on Tuesday over the murder.
