Parents Storm In Headteacher’s House in Narok: Parents, guardians and villagers around the Oloisonkoyo Primary School in Narok have defied recent strict measures by the Ministry of Education by storming in school head’s house and throwing away his belongings over poor results.
The parents raided the Headteacher’s house within the school and threw his belongings out of the house demanding that he resigns over poor results recorded by the school in the last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
This comes weeks after the Ministry of Education warned parents against storming in schools and harassing teachers over results. Through the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, the Ministry directed that any incident like that will force transfer of teachers.

According to the parents who spoke to the press, the Headteacher is to blame for the dismal performance of exams alleging that he spends most of his time farming instead of improving the school’s performance.
In the results announced in November 2023, almost all the students had 100 marks out of a possible 500 denying them a chance to join their preferred high schools.
The parents also complained that the school only had six teachers who were strained by the number of students in the school.
“We are asking the government to increase the number of teachers here or close down this school and let us farm here.”

The ministry is yet to address the current development in Narok with the Ministry insisting that for a school to perform dismally, every stakeholder is to blame including the learners.
Machogu also directed parents to escalate their grievances concerning the results to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) instead of harassing teachers in their respective stations.
