A Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldier was confimed dead after he was reportedly stoned in a bar in Kasarani area in Nairobi.
According to reports Senior private Soldier Kelvin Ndung’u of Moi Airbase was confirmed dead after he was hit by a stone in an altercation outside a bar in the Mirema area, Kasarani.

The soldier is said to have been rushed to hospital in Kasarani after he was found lying unconscious near the club. He was however transferred to Defence Memorial Hospital after he was identified as a KDF Soldier.
However, three days after the incident, the soldier was confirmed dead on Tuesday, September 3. According to witnesses who were at the scene of incident claim that Ndung’u was with his friends at the club.
An altercation between him and his friends led to a small fight before one of his “friends” who is suspected to be a fellow soldier hit Ndung’u on the head with a stone leaving him unconscious in a trench.
The assailants who are yet to be identified fled the scene leaving Ndung’u for death before he was found by BodaBoda operators. They called the police who rushed him Jesse Kay Hospital along Lumumba Drive before being taken to Defense Memorial.

Police confirmed that they have opened a murder investigation into the incident and are also reviewing security cameras in the area as part of the probe into the incident. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Preliminary investigations however reveal that the “friends” might have been fellow soldiers who were hanging with Ndung’u as friends before an altercation between them led to tragic death.
