President William Ruto who was in Kisumu for his tour in the region has slammed his Deputy for his shareholders remarks. Speaking to the people of Kisumu, President Ruto has said that all kenyans deserve developments irrespective of how they voted in the general elections.
Gachagua has been vocal about developments starting from those who voted the government then the rest should follow in what he terms as shareholders. This statement has rubbed the rest of Kenyans the wrong way and the President took time to clarify the same.
In a statement, Ruto said, “Let nobody tell you that you are out of the government. You pay taxes and you are Kenyans. This is your government and I will not allow any part of Kenya to be discriminated against in terms of developments on the basis of political affiliation.”

This is contrary to his Deputy’s remarks who says that Kenya is like a company with shareholders whose interests come first and should receive a bigger share of the cake then those who voted for Azimio should come last.
The President added, “It is primitive and backward for anybody to imagine that any region of Kenya should not get developments on account of how they voted. That’s not correct and I will assure the people of kenya that we will move together as one nation.”
The President added that the elections were over and politicians should come together for the wellbeing of Kenyans. “When we are done with politics, its the electorate who are our bosses and we must work for them. The only debt we have for the people is development.
Senator James Orengo, who was in the company of the President echoed his words and agreed that leaders should work for the people of Kenya equally irrespective of who voted them in.
