Several passengers were confirmed dead after they were involved in a grisly accident in Kwale County in the popular Denyenye area along the Likoni-Kombani road.
According to reports, a total of five passengers who were riding a motorcycle were killed on the spot in the Kwale accident after they hit the truck that had stalled in the highway.
Confirming the incident, Coast Regional Police boss George Sedah said that the five met their untimely death moments after they rammed into the truck from the rear as it stalled.

Police further report that there were six passengers in the motorcycle and out of the six, five died on the spot and one survived with serious injuries and was rushed to Diani Beach Hospital for emergency treatment.
“It seems there were six people on the motorcycle because one survived and was rushed to the hospital. We urge all parties including pedestrians to always be cautious for their safety.”
Reports from the police further indicate that the motorbike rider, who was travelling from Kombani towards Likoni did not notice that the truck was stalled and realised it abit late thus causing the unfortunate impact at the past midnight accident.
This comes just days after six school going children lost their lives on Friday morning after a probox ran over them while crossing the road headed to school along the Kitui-Kibwezi road.

In the accident, three victims were Primary School Pupils and the other three were students from a nearby secondary school. Even though it was a hit and run accident, the driver surrendered to the police and was arrested and his vehicle impounded.
