Several mourners are feared dead after a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) trailer lost control and rammed into several vehicles in an accident at the dangerous Mai Mahiu route.
According to reports, the mourners were travelling in three vehicles and a hearse when the LPG tanker lost control and hit them resulting to multiple casualties according to preliminary reports.
Pictures and videos that have since gone viral and seen by NewsProjector show multiple people lying on the ground with one of the vehicle that was involved in the accident at the upside down stature.

Witnesses estimated that there were several fatalities from the crash but the actual number is yet to be established as well wishers and rescuers rushed to the scene to try and rescue those trapped in the crashed vehicles.
Reports reveal that the Mai Mahiu accident happened as one family was transporting a body of their loved one to Rongo and their van of the Galaxy company rolled down the escarpment following the accident.
It is alleged that the driver of the LPG lost control of the tanker after the brakes failed and rammed into three successive vehicles, toppling one down the cliff before coming to a stop at the danger zone.
The number of the injured and the casualties is yet to be provided to the media as rescue operation are currently underway with videos indicating an ugly scene that could result to several casualties.

Traffic is said to have piled up in the route proving it difficult for emergency response to access the accident site but police manning traffic near the area are on site trying to help with the rescue efforts.
