Several people are feared dead after a Mombasa Bound bus, Tahmeed collided head on with a tanker near Mundika High School along Busia Bumala Roa.
According to reports, the bus belonging to the Tahmeed company caught fire and exploded after colliding head on with the tanker that was coming from Kampala Uganda.
The Mombasa Bound bus, Tahmeed was carrying several passengers that were travelling from Busia To Mombasa when the accident happened.

Several people are feared dead with firefighters yet to arrive at the scene. However, graphics from the scene show an ugly scene with several bodies scattered on the scene.
Witnesses from the scene say that almost everyone in the bus is dead while others are badly burnt after the bus caught fire almost immediately giving occupants no time to react after the incident.
However, rescue operations for survivors are currently underway as civilians wait for more help from the county and national government’s professionals to arrive at the scene.
Motorists Association of Kenya condemned the tragic explosion, noting that urgent action needed to be taken to prevent future accidents.
“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic crash explosion involving travellers after an oil tanker and a Mombasa-bound bus head-on collision at Mundika, Busia, rescue efforts are underway.”
The accident comes after another Tahmeed bus burst into flames mid-journey along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Luckily, the incident, which occurred on February 4, 2024, saw all 48 passengers onboard evacuated to safety.
