Hell broke lose after members of Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Saika West, Nairobi County started trading blows over offerings in church.
According to reports, the fight broke out on Friday, March 8th after the disruption of a meeting by a faction of SDA church members, who were allegedly planning to challenge the authority of the church elders.
The disruption led to a fight between the elders and the church members. Attempts by the preacher to quell the fight hit the rocks as some of the congregants beat him up.

According to the members, the church management was accused of mismanaging funds by contravening the agreement reached on how the funds were to be allocated.
The members also added that the church hierarchy has adamantly refused to step down to allow for fresh board elections due to the ammount of money they access to push their selfish interests.
During the chaos that involved the church pastor, numerous individuals sustained injuries, resulting in a trail of destruction within the church premises. Three individuals sustained serious injuries with one member sustaining a head trauma.
According to congregants who spoke to the press, the fight escalated after a member donated Ksh12.5 million as tithe to the church, funds that they all agreed how they were going to be used only for the management to channel the funds otherwise.

“There is some money here that we received, about Ksh12.5 million and this money is supposed to be divided into two categories. A share of it for fieldwork and the other part for church development.”
According to the member, part of the funds was meant for field work while the remaining part was for in-house development.
“3.77 million was meant for field work but was not utilised in the fieldwork. The money was also used to purchase this building worth 7.5 million. Even to purchase this building they wanted the money to be added.”
