President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretaries have announced new appointments of several state appointments that will be effective immediately for the next three years.
According to reports, Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi and Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua have made a total of nineteen state appointments.
Hassan Joho made appointments in two major dockets of the National Mining Corporation and the Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation, naming Faraj Majur and both Adan Yusuf Deis and Darius Mobe and board members of the respective corporations.

John Mbadi on the other hand also made several appointments in three key agencies, including the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority, where he appointed Michael Waititu Maina as a member until May 18, 2026.
Mbadi appointed Harun Kipkemei and Florence Auma Oluoch as members of the board of directors for the Consolidated Bank Limited. Millicent Omanga was also appointed to serve in the ministry as part of the board of directors of the Local Authorities Provident Fund alongside two others in the same gazette notice.
“The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— Samwel Kariuki Maina, Beatrice Kones, Millicent Nyaboke, to be members of the Board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund, for three (3) years, with effect from the 8th November 2024.”
Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua on the other hand made one Isaac Mbingi Okello a trustee of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to serve for the next three years effective immediately.
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) also appointed Rose Ombaki to its board of directors through the Cabinet Secretary of Information, Communications and Digital Economy, Margaret Ndung’u.
Deborah Barasa, the Cabinet Secretary for Health also appointed Tusmo Jama, Sylvia Achieng Ojoo, Moses Merkalel Atuko, to be members of the Board of Kenya BioVax Institute Limited, for a period of three (3) years and Sylvia Achieng Ojoo for a second position as a member for the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council.
Julius Migos Ogamba, the CS for education in his capacity appointed Francis Mutungi, Adan Omar Enow, and Hawo Shanko Abdullah to join the Council of the North Eastern National Polytechnic to serve up to June 15, 2026.

Water and Sanitation CS Eric Muriithi Mugaa also appointed Butichi Khamisi to the board of directors of the Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency. Land and Public Works Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome appointed Mercy Okiro and Peter Musango while in the National Construction Appeals Board, she appointed Yvette Olende to join the board.
