President William Ruto has vowed to proceed with the Haiti mission despite court orders barring the mission from proceeding.
The President who was speaking in Europe to Reuters said Kenya is going to push ahead with plans to lead a U.N.-approved security mission to Haiti despite a court in Nairobi last week blocking the deployment.
According to the President, the mission will go on after he flies back to Kenya next week if the necessary paperwork are done, avoiding the order that was issued by the Kenyan court on the same.

“So that mission can go ahead as soon as next week if all the paperwork is done between Kenya and Haiti on the bilateral route that has been suggested by the court.”
This comes after Haiti sought help in fighting gang violence and after rejection from various countries who didn’t want to take part in the mission, Kenya stepped up due to her long history of taking part in international peace-keeping operations.
President William Ruto committed to release 1000 police officers to Haiti to lead an international security force to tackle the gang related violence in the Caribbean country.
However, the Haiti mission was put in limbo after the Kenyan court ruled that it would be unconstitutional to deploy officers abroad unless there was a “reciprocal arrangement” in place with the host government.
President William Ruto has said that Haiti wrote to the country formally several months ago and the discussions to get necessary request from Haiti government.
