President William Ruto has promised to gift Kiptum’s wife another house and a job in his burial speech at the late Marathoner’s burial.
According to the President, the second house will be under the affordable housing project and will be named under Kiptum’s wife name Asenath Rotich on completion of the project.
“I have already given the family Ksh5 million and now the government will give him another new house beside the house we have built here and it will belong to his wife.”

The President who is in attendance of Kiptum’s burial has named Kiptum as a man with a great heart and that his death was a message to Kenyans. Thus a hero who should be celebrated as one.
President William Ruto described Kiptum as an ambitious, disciplined and focused person and despite being from a humble background, his hard work made him known.
“He worked against the odds. In Kelvin, we saw the future of athletics in Kenya. He stood out not only as a great athlete but more importantly as a good person. He was ambitious, disciplined and focused.”
This comes a week after the head of state sent engineers to Kiptum’s homestead with instructions to build a three-bedroom house. The house which was completed in seven days has caught attention on how magnificent it turned out despite the limited time that was available.

According to reports, the government is also building Kiptum’s parents a house adjacent to Kiptum’s which is currently on ground phase.
This was to fulfill Kiptum’s last wish that according to Kiptum’s father, it was Kiptum’s last wish to build a home for him before the athlete met his tragic death in a road accident.
