The recent Mt Kenya supremacy and power succession that has put Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at loggerheads has forced President William Ruto to have his say on Nyoro-Gachagua Supremacy debate.
Speaking on January 23, the President urged the Kiharu MP to go slow in the kingpin politics saying that they should be allowed to be mentored by the Deputy President and himself.
“Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and I said that we would mentor these young men. They should go slow while we are mentoring them because if they go too fast they will spoil things. Relax, do not be in a hurry.”

In a statement that appeared to side with Deputy President, President William Ruto urged leaders to not rush because they are not the kind of leaders that fight upcoming leaders and instead are out to mentor them for the best.
This comes after a section of Mt Kenya leaders led by Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu and Gatanga MP Edward Muriu have been openly endorsing Ndindi Nyoro to be Ruto’s running mate in 2027.
Even though the Kiharu MP has not spoken in public about the discussion, the Deputy President has fumed a breath of fire to those behind the topic saying they are out to break the unity of Mt. Kenya region.
The Nyoro-Gachagua supremacy debate has also taken another turn after the Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announced that he is best suited for the Kingpin status as plans for the 2027 polls start with a slow but steady progress.

However, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has on his part warned that his name should not be dragged into the 2027 political discussions.
“Political talk about the 2027 or other future elections a year after a General Election is tactless, anti-people and primitive. It is a blot on the maturity of our democracy. The ongoing debate ought to stop, but if it must proceed, I respectfully request that my name should not be dragged into it.”
