Rita Waeni’s Missing Head, a Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) student who was brutally murdered last week has been found in Kiambu County.
The head was found in a dam in Kiambaa and has since been picked by detectives for preservation and forensic analysis.
Police officers also managed to get other belongings of the slain university student at the scene.

Detectives probing the murder case are now pursuing crucial leads for the apprehension of the culprit who they suspect is a serial killer.
Waeni is said to have travelled from Syokimau to Roysambu to meet a man that is suspected to have taken her life last week.
The suspect is said to have butchered the lady in an AirBnB in Roysambu where he fled with the head leaving behind his dismembered parts in the apartment.
A suspect has since been arrested pending further investigations. According to reports, the suspect was travelling using a Mozambican passport and was intercepted before boarding a plane after he reportedly raised suspicion. He was interrogated at the airport before being transferred to the Kasarani Police Station pending identification.

According to the family of Rita Waeni, the killers demanded for Ksh 500,000 to release the Fourth year student. This is according to her father who said he received a message, delivered from her phone number, demanding the ransom .
With this message, the family reported the matter to the police and DCI, and investigations began. Unfortunately, the family did not get further details about the ransom or an opportunity to explore this route. Additionally, some demands were made when she had already been murdered.
