Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s elder sister Leah Wangari Muriuki has been confirmed dead by the family and the Deputy President.
According to reports, the late Gachagua’s sister is the eldest in the family of the Deputy President and has taken care of the larger Gachagua family after the demise of their parents according to the Deputy President.

Confirming the news through his social media platforms, Gachagua said that he is saddened by the news and that Leah, his elder sister has been a support system for his family at large.
“I am saddened to receive news of the passing on of our eldest sister Leah Wangari Muriuki. Leah has been our Mother and the family Matriarch; she has taken good care of the larger Gachagua Family after the death of our father and our two mothers.”
It’s however not yet clear on what happened to Leah Wangari, Gachagua’s elder sister but reports allege that she was battling illness before her demise. But Gachagua did not go into the details.
Gachagua sent condolences to her husband, her children and grandchildren for the devastating loss of their parent and will however provide details of the burial later.
