According to trusted sources, it has been revealed the real reason behind the postponement of the 2023 KCSE examination results release date to the second week of January.
According to reports, the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) was supposed to release the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination today but they postponed to a later date.
Reports indicate that the examiners requested more time to compile the results and do a thorough review of the results before the release to avoid any errors in the release of the examinations.

The ministry of education is still cautious of the errors that happened in the 2023 KCPE examinations results that caused an uproar due to the discrepancies that were witnessed in the results.
This has forced the examiners responsible for compiling of results to be under pressure to ensure nothing of the kind happens in the upcoming 2023 KCSE Examination Results release, thus the postponement.
Parents, guardians and students who sat for the 2023 KCSE Examinations were hoping that the results will be available before the year ends but the Ministry has insisted that a thorough review should be done by the examiners to ensure the correct and accurate results are released.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu confirmed that the results will be released in the second week of January because the examiners requested so
“We are done with the marking. What we are currently doing is compiling the marks, verification and validation. You know it’s quite a process. So that by the end of the day, we release credible results.”
The students will be graded using the grading system recommended by the Presidential Working Party, on Education Reforms reduces the number of compulsory subjects and focuses on those they are strong in.
This will base on their performance in two compulsory subjects, that is, Mathematics and any language including English, Kiswahili, or National Sign Language.
