Various confirmed sources have revealed the new KCSE grading system that Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) will use in the 2023 KCSE Examination Results set to be released in January.
According to reports, the new KCSE grading system was the one that was proposed by the Presidential Working Party on education where they suggested various changes in the education system.
The previous 8-4-4 grading system disadvantaged certain learners whose top-performing subjects were overlooked if they did not fall within a specific cluster thus leading to some bright students missing spots in tertiary levels of education.

In addition, KNEC will consider the five best-performed subjects by the candidate and add it to the two compulsory subjects to be used in the overal ranking of a student to determine if he will get the cut off points to proceed to university.
