Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced the return of blackouts. The company has listed four counties that will experience power outage for the better part of Sunday.
The areas will be undergoing transmission Mantainance that will run throughout the day. Therefore, the company has asked affected persons to find alternative source of power on Sunday.

Areas To Experience Power Blackouts.
Machakos County: Kitui Road
The following areas will experience the return of blackouts on Sunday. Kyeni, Kaseve, Kalumoni, Kaani, Kithangathini, Vulya, Masii, Kasolongo, Muthetheni, Makutano, Mwala, Kavindini, Mbiuni, Ghetoo, Wamunyu, Yathui, Ikalaasa,Tulila, Miondoni, Syokisinga, Katangi, Ikombe, Kenyaata, Seku University, Kyua and adjacent areas.
Parts of Nakuru/Baringo County: Whole of Mogotio Town.
Mogotio Town, Mogotio Westlands, Little Friends Academy, KCB Mogotio, Mogotio sub county hospital, Mogotio offices, St Mary’s Primary school and adjacent customers to the aforementioned areas above.
Kakamega County: Shikangania Jaggery area.
Shikangania Jaggery, Elukho, Shikhoti Market, Tumaini, Esumeiya, Ewamahumbi, Etemesi and adjacent customers.
Kirinyaga County. PI and Estana areas.
Parts of PI market, Maina Highway Hotel, Estana Hotel, Mumbuini, Murindiko, Itangi, Part of Togonye, Ikurungu, Mugambachura and adjacent customers to the aforementioned areas above.

This comes after a season of uninterrupted power blackouts across the country with the Kenya Power and Lighting Company failing to list areas that will experience power blackouts.
But it seems the return of blackouts is here with several areas reporting that they ahave been experiencing power interruptions. However, the above mentioned areas have been notified in advance to prepare for the interruption that will happen tomorrow.
However, the power will be restored at approximately 5 PM because the interruptions will run from approximately 9 AM to 5PM.
