Bomet residents stormed into Governor’s office in Bomet town demanding that the Governor Hillary Barchok resigns due to incompetence.
According to reports, the irrate residents of Bomet county were complaining about lack of development in the county thus storming in governor’s office to demand his resignation.
This came moments after the residents heckled the Governor infront of President William Ruto when he was given a chance to address them, saying he has no authority to address them due to his incompetence.

It took the intervention of the President Ruto to calm down the residents. Ruto appeared angered by the heckling which has become prevalent in his rallies across all regions in Kenya.
Ruto proceeded to warn the residents against the heckling and further cautioned politicians against paying youths to interrupt their opponents in rallies, an action he witnessed in Kericho too.
“I don’t want this behaviour in meetings. You are the ones electing these leaders; the MCAs, MPs and even the governor. If someone is not working please wait for them during the elections. At the moment we are in a meeting.”
However, reports indicate that they did not find the Governor in his office at the time they gained access in the premises. However, they made their frustrations known by chanting and shouting for the Governor’s resignation.

Most leaders in the region have claimed that the actions witnessed on Saturday were due to the rift between Governor Barchok and Senator, Hillary Sigei. However, residents insist that it has nothing to do with politics but lack of development in the county.
Efforts to reach Barchok’s office for comments proved futile by the time of this news publication.
