Azimio Leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has rubished claims that he has endorsing Kalonzo in 2027 as his political successor.
Speaking during the Citizen Television interview, the Opposition leader said that a time will come when the coalition will decide who the flag bearer is and for now, reforms in the electoral system should be a priority.
According to Raila, it is useless for anyone to vie in the coming election including endorsing Kalonzo in 2027 if reforms the opposition has been advocating for are not effected to avoid the “mess” that happened in 2022.

“We are still concerned with what happened in 2022. Unless we resolve it properly, it will be useless for anybody to run 2027. Unless we really sort out properly that mess we had, to have a proper electoral commission that can preside over an election and give you real results.”
However, Raila acknowledged Kalonzo’s unwavering support in his Presidential bid for the past decade but denied reports of endorsing the former Vice President as a way of returning the favor.
“I didn’t say I will support Kalonzo Musyoka, I acknowledged Kalonzo as a trustworthy person , someone you can trust who has stood with us through thick and thin. I was responding to Ruto when I said Kalonzo is enough.”

The former Prime Minister also said that Azimio is not planning on holding demonstrations anytime soon as the coalition is seeking alternatives to address issues other than going to the streets.
“Kenyans are asking me to call for demonstrations. Those whonwere saying demonstrations are destroying their businesses are now asking me to tell people to come out. We will talk when it’s necessary and times are going to come. Right now we are following a different path.”
