The Head of State also directed ministries of education and interior to ensure compliance with school boarding regulations to avert any future tragedies like that witnessed in Hillside.
“Compliance with government regulations on curbing fire accidents in learning institutions is not negotiable. This is the only insurance we have to effectively prevent the loss of life and limb in school.”
This comes after President William Ruto met with Education Ministry officials who briefed him on the tragedy after jetting into the country and the steps being taken to ensure the safety of all our children.
President Ruto’s directive comes just hours after Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura confirmed that all students that were missing at the Endarasha Academy have been accounted for by relevant authorities.
Families of the victims will have to wait for more days for the process of body identification which will be performed through DNA as the bodies of victims were burnt beyond recognition by the naked eye.
