Politicians were forced to scamper to safety after angry residents stormed the county assembly in a bid to express their frustrations over county leadership.
According to reports Members of the County Assembly were forced to flee after Nandi County residents marched and stormed the county assembly demanding the impeachment of Governor Stephen Sang.
Residents accused the governor of underperforming, failing to deliver development and presiding over the hiring of ghost workers thus marched to the assembly to demanding to engage the Speaker and make their voices heard.

However upon reaching the gate, security personnel intervened and informed them that they could not see the speaker as he was away and that their complaints have been duly noted and will be passed to the speaker once he’s back.
Minutes before storming into the assembly, the MCAs have been involved in an altercation between themselves and the storming by members of the public forced the members to flee the chambers to avoid the wrath of angry residents.
This comes after reports indicated that the Nandi Governor had hired thousands of ghost workers including his own famiky members, some of whom are said to be abroad and not in the country.
The County has been the subject of leadership wrangles as Senator Samson Cherargei and Governor Sang continue to be embroiled in squabbles over various matters at the devolved unit.
Cherargei on his part while speaking in Spice FM has condemned what he terms as unfair dismissal of 1,500 workers and that he is considering taking legal action against the county leadership
