A police officer who went viral on Tuesday after joining Gen Z Protests against President William Ruto has gone missing, according to his lawyer and family.
According to the popular Nairobi lawyer, his client Jackson Kihara also known as “Shakur the Cop” went missing since Friday when his phones went off suddenly and couldn’t be traced.

Reports indicate that the police officer is 25-year-old with a wife and young daughter who are said to be distressed over his sudden disappearance. Its suspected that Shakur was abducted and is being held incommunicado.
Jackson Kihara went viral on Tuesday when he was pictured holding different placards with one written “Reject Finance Bill” and several others that were directed at the government and President Ruto.
Fearing for his safety his lawyer filed an application for anticipatory bail for his client on Wednesday under a certificate of urgency but courts failed to act on the urgent application, with a court assistant informing the lawyer that no interim orders had been given.
This forced the lawyer to withdraw the application and refiled it in Kiambu where Justice Mshila granted anticipatory bail on Friday setting it at Ksh 100,000 for 30 days.
However, immediately after filing the application in Kiambu, Shakur’s phones went off on Friday night and has remained unreachable since Friday and for the whole weekend.
The police officer abduction comes as several abductions are being reported before and after the Tuesday Gen Z protests that shocked the government with protesters invading the National Assembly.
