Police Imposter Joshua Waiganjo who hit the headlines 11 years ago back in 2013 for allegedly impersonating senior police officer has been freed by a Naivasha court today.
According to reports, the court dropped all charges that were levied against the police Imposter Joshua Waiganjo among them impersonating senior police officers, illegally being in possession of police uniforms, and two charges of robbery with violence.
Issuing the verdict on Thursday, Naivasha Chief Magistrate Nathan Lutta said that the court had acquitted Waiganjo on two counts of robbery with violence after the complainants failed to testify in court.

The Diretor of Public prosecution had offered to withdraw the case under section 87 (a) of the penal code that guarantees prosecution to withdraw the case against the accused so as to re open the case later.
However, Joshua Waiganjo and his defense team rejected the request by the prosecution pinning the prosecution in the wall on the basis of lacking sufficient proof to continue with the case.
This comes after Waiganjo was sentenced to five years in jail for impersonating a police officer, one year for dressing in police uniform, and six months each for three charges of being in possession of government stores
Joshua Waiganjo however appealed his sentencing at the Naivasha High Court, which ordered a retrial, before moving to the Appellate court in 2017 which dismissed the case entirely on grounds that it lacked legal basis.
